High school football season begins in about 100 days, and Clarksdale’s schedule for the 2019-20 season includes three games against Coahoma County opponents.
The Wildcats will open their season August 23rd at Coahoma Early College before visiting 6A Greenville the next week. September’s games include a rivalry rematch against Coahoma County on the 6th with the Red Panthers as the home team. Cleveland Central comes to Clarksdale on the 13th; the Wildcats travel to South Panola on the 20th and host Ackerman’s Choctaw County on the 27th. October’s games are all against division opponents with Yazoo City at Clarksdale on the 4th followed by road games at Gentry in Indianola and Tunica’s Rosa Fort before concluding the regular season at home against defending district champion Greenwood on October 25th. This will likely be the Wildcats’ final season at Crumpton Field as a new stadium on the campus of Clarksdale High is expected to be completed next year and ready for the 2020 football season.
For the eighth year in a row, Wildcat football will be heard on 97.5 WROX and AM 1450 with Charlie Webster calling the action.
