Clarksdale High School is on track to break ground for a new football stadium and track complex this summer.  Earlier this month the school board authorized the sale of $8.5 million in bonds to Memphis underwriting firm Duncan Williams to finance the stadium on the campus of Clarksdale High and a new district administration building on Wildcat Drive.  The new athletic facility should be open in time for the 2019 football season and will replace the 60-year old stadium at Crumpton Field on Lee Drive which the Wildcats share with Coahoma County High School.
